Hey there.
How are you doing? Yeah. We hear you.
In fact, we’d like for you to talk to us about it.
In this time of steep division in our nation (and around the world), we believe our roles as artists require us to help our community make meaning. Asterism Theatre Company wants to do that the way we know best: by creating theatre. And we need your help.
Reading the eloquent and raw posts on our social media feeds has inspired us to create a piece of theatre about where we are as a nation and where we’re going. We want to take your thoughts, feelings, and experiences and weave them together to tell the story of how our beautiful nation has become untied. And we want to explore the ways in which we can become become united again.
We want to hear from all of you. Democrats. Republicans. Liberals who voted for Donald Trump. Conservatives who voted for Hillary Clinton. People of color. White people. Straight people. Gay people. Trans people. Men. Women. Undocumented citizens. Immigrants. First generation Americans. However you identify: we want to hear your stories.
We believe it’s important in this time to listen with our heads and our hearts. Asterism Theatre Company is here for you. To listen. To yell at. To hug. To cry on.
You can sign up for a time to connect with us via phone, Skype, or in person by filling out the form linked to this post!
Know that your anonymity will be preserved unless you choose to be listed in the program as a contributor to this project, tentatively titled Untied. So feel free to be as raw and open with us as you like. No judgements. We want to be there to help in the best way we know how.
Peter Brook said, “Nothing in the theatre has any meaning before or after. Meaning is now.”
We're also looking for artists to collaborate with. If you're willing to interview, transcribe, act, help produce, offer space, be a part of the creative team, write, or any other skill, please fill out the form below to be an artist with Asterism.
